01.

Arrival in Sri Lanka ➜ Negombo

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to Negombo, a charming coastal town located just a short drive away. Known for its golden beaches, vibrant fish markets, and colonial heritage, Negombo is the perfect place to begin your Sri Lankan journey. Check in to your hotel and take some time to relax after your flight—perhaps with a walk along the beach or a refreshing dip in the pool. In the evening, you will meet with your cycling guide for a bike tour briefing, receive your bikes, and enjoy a short familiarization ride to get comfortable. Afterwards, sit down to a welcome dinner featuring fresh seafood and authentic local flavors.

Fishing Village Trail ➜ Waikkal to Coastal Belt – Transfer to Sigiriya

After a short drive from Negombo to Waikkal, begin your cycling adventure along Sri Lanka’s breathtaking northwestern coastal belt. Pedal through scenic coconut plantations, enjoying sweeping views of the Indian Ocean and immersing yourself in the charm of coastal village life. Along the way, you’ll encounter the vibrant fishing community and witness age-old techniques used by local fishermen, offering a glimpse into their traditions and daily challenges. Pause to savor a refreshing king coconut served by the cycling team, while learning about the importance of the coconut industry to both the region and the nation’s economy. Aukana & Habarana ➜ Cultural Ride & Iconic Statue Visit

After breakfast, set off on a scenic ride towards Aukana, passing through vibrant local towns, lush agricultural landscapes, and serene village roads. This journey offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the rhythm of daily life in rural Sri Lanka and connect with the warmth of the local community. On arrival, visit the Aukana Buddha Statue, an awe-inspiring 12-meter-high masterpiece carved out of solid granite, dating back to the 4th century. Pause midday to enjoy a picnic-style lunch amidst the peaceful surroundings. Dambulla & Sigiriya ➜ Cave Temple & Rock Fortress

Return to your hotel for a short rest, then in the late afternoon set out to climb the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Cycle through the lush countryside towards the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Sri Lanka’s medieval capital. Along the way, ride past endless rice paddies, peaceful village lanes, and lively scenes of daily local life. The route also takes you alongside an irrigation canal, offering both scenic beauty and a glimpse into the island’s centuries-old water management systems. Upon reaching Polonnaruwa, explore the impressive archaeological site — home to ancient palaces, temples, and the iconic Gal Vihara rock-carved Buddha statues. Kandy ➜ Temple, Market Walk & Gem Experience

Afterward, enjoy a leisurely walk through Kandy town, exploring its lively bazaar and colorful local market — a wonderful place to see everyday life, taste fresh produce, and discover local handicrafts. Tea Country Journey ➜ Nuwara Eliya & Drive to Ella

Stroll through the local bazaar and see the iconic red-brick post office before continuing to Ella, a laid-back hill-country town surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.

Scenic Train Journey & Ella Highlights

This morning, board a train for one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world. Travel through rolling tea fields, misty mountains, and rustic villages, taking in the breathtaking landscapes along the way. In the afternoon, enjoy a walk to two of Ella’s most iconic landmarks: the Nine Arch Bridge, an architectural marvel hidden amidst the jungle, and Little Adam’s Peak, an easy hike that rewards you with panoramic views at sunset.

Ella to Galle ➜ Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home & Safari

Overnight Stay in Galle / Weligama / Mirissa

After a leisurely breakfast, depart Ella and travel southwards. En route, stop at the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, where orphaned elephants are rehabilitated before being released back into the wild — a truly heartwarming conservation effort. Following your visit, embark on an exciting safari in Udawalawe National Park, famous for its large herds of wild elephants, water buffalo, spotted deer, crocodiles, and a rich variety of birdlife. Beach Stay or Departure

Spend your final morning at leisure, enjoying the laid-back beach atmosphere. Depending on your flight schedule, you may choose to extend your stay by the sea or transfer to Colombo / Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure.
